Structure and High-Temperature Oxidation Performance of Si-Co Diffusion Coatings Prepared on a TiAl-Nb Alloy

چکیده

Si-Co diffusion coatings were prepared on a Y-modified TiAl-Nb alloy using the pack cementation process. The structures of at different temperatures (1050, 1080, and 1120 °C) Co contents (5, 10, 20 wt.%) comparatively studied. possessed typical structure (Ti,X)Si2+Ti5Si4 (X represents Nb Al elements) outer layer with Co-rich superficial zone, Ti5Si4+Ti5Si3 middle layer, TiAl2 inner layer. Increasing co-deposition temperature in range 1050–1120 °C led to larger coating thickness but more-porous structure, while increasing 5–20 wt.% caused lower growth rate. formation followed an orderly process depositing Si first then Co. had much better anti-oxidation performance than both substrate pure silicide coating. After undergoing oxidation 1000 for 100 h, parabolic rate was approximately 6.16 × 10−3 mg2/cm4h1, which those by about two orders magnitude one order magnitude.

High Temperature Oxidation Performance of Aluminide Coatings

In order to determine the potential benefits and limitations of aluminide coatings, coatings made by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on Feand Ni-base alloy substrates are being evaluated in various hightemperature environments. Testing of coatings on representative ferritic (Fe-9Cr-1Mo) and austenitic (type 304L stainless steel) alloys has found that high frequency thermal cycling (1h cycle tim...

High temperature tribological performance of CrAlYN/CrN nanoscale multilayer coatings deposited on γ-TiAl

Nanoscale multilayer nitride coatings deposited by advanced PVD techniques have shown particular promise in improving the tribological properties of a number of modal alloy steels [1]. In this study, we report the effect of temperature on the friction and wear behaviour of a CrAlYN/CrN multilayer coating with a CrAlYON/CrON topcoat deposited on γ-TiAl. Deposition was performed by unbalanced mag...

effect of temperature and co2+ concentration of bath on composition of zn-co alloy coatings

zn-co electrodeposits have attracted interest because of their significantly higher corrosion resistance in comparison with pure zinc. in this research the influence of bath temperature and electrolyte’s co 2+ concentration on the morphology and composition of the zn-co coatings, electrodeposited on an aisi1018 steel substrate from a weakly alkaline glycine solutions, has been studied. sem and ...

High-Temperature Oxidation of Fe3Al Intermetallic Alloy Prepared by Additive Manufacturing LENS

The isothermal oxidation of Fe-28Al-5Cr (at%) intermetallic alloy microalloyed with Zr and B (<0.08 at%) in air atmosphere, in the temperature range of 1000 to 1200 °C, was studied. The investigation was carried out on the thin-walled (<1 mm) elements prepared by Laser Engineered Net Shaping (LENS) from alloy powder of a given composition. Characterization of the specimens, after the oxidation,...

Influence of Oxygen Contents on the Microstructure, High Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion Resistance Properties of Cr–Si–O–N Coatings

Cr–Si–O–N coatings with different oxygen contents were deposited by multi-arc ion plating, where various O2/(N2 + O2) reactive gas rates were adopted. The XRD and XPS results showed that the CrN crystals disappeared with the increasing of the oxygen flux ratio to 10 at.%. The microhardness of all the Cr–Si–O–N coatings was approximately 2000 Hv0.05, which were dramatically plummeted compared to...
